The Ark of Eternal Protection

Genesis 6:9-14,17-18,22 These are the records of the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his time; Noah walked with God. Noah became the father of three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Now the earth was corrupt in the sight of God, and the earth was filled with violence. God looked on the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth. Then God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me; for the earth is filled with violence because of them; and behold, I am about to destroy them with the earth. “Make for yourself an ark of gopher wood; you shall make the ark with rooms, and shall cover it inside and out with pitch... “Behold, I, even I am bringing the flood of water upon the earth, to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life, from under heaven; everything that is on the earth shall perish. “But I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall enter the ark—you and your sons and your wife, and your sons’ wives with you... Thus Noah did; according to all that God had commanded him, so he did.

This is a story most people I know are aware of not because they read the Bible but because it is a story that is told to little children just like any other fabled tale. There are cute cartoons that depict this story and this has also been a point of great debate as to whether God actually flooded the entire earth and saved just Noah and his family plus 2 of every creation and we today, regardless of race, are therefore offspring of Noah?

Every passage that we read in the Bible is rife with questions asked by humans of great intelligence and what is God trying to establish by presenting such hard to accept matters?

From the beginning of the Bible, every word we read is challenged not because it is hard to understand but because we are quick to judge what's right from wrong. Because we can think and ask, we do and because there is little physical evidence that there is anyone else out there other than us, we believe we know it all and can judge for ourselves.

This puts us in a very difficult spot because we start to operate as individuals and not collectively and worse still, we create our own moral framework and confine ourselves to our limited imaginations. It is said that the most brilliant minds use a maximum of just 10% of their mental capabilities and with all this intelligence, we still do not have answers but instead are getting into bigger problems day-by-day.

In the days of Noah, God was tired of man's sinfulness and therefore decided to wipe out humanity from His creation. Thank God for Noah and his family or we would not be here today to ask or reason for through Noah, God established a covenant, an ark of protection, the first of many.

In the end of time when Jesus returns to judge the world, what is our answer to His questions about the worth of our lives? Will we be able to say that we lived lives that were worth saving and therefore God should bless us or will we be hoping to be eaten up by the mountains for the fear of repression? Will our good works justify us? NO! The Bible says clearly that all of us (mankind) has sinned and are bound for the pits of hell but Jesus came into this world to save us from this terrible end so that we may have eternal life with Him.

Are you saved by the blood of the Lamb, the ark of eternal protection from damnation and the fires and hell? Are you washed in the blood of Jesus? If not, I pray that you receive Him today and are protected by His blood shed on the cross for us. If you are already saved, are you ambassadors for Christ living your every moment for His glory alone? I pray that today we will wake up before the God's judgment comes upon us and we realize the waste of the great opportunity we had as children of the living God.

Hebrews 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned by God about things not yet seen, in reverence prepared an ark for the salvation of his household, by which he condemned the world, and became an heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.
