But, dear friends, remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ foretold. They said to you, “In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires.” These are the men who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit. But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life. Be merciful to those who doubt; snatch others from the fire and save them; to others show mercy, mixed with fear—hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.
Is the internet age not amazing? Any question we have can be answered by a simple google search and the collective wisdom of the world is available to all for free. The only challenge is knowing what's right from wrong and being able to hold on to what is right.
I am reminded of the email forwards that come are way ever so faithfully warning us from a million things and all scientifically proven. Soon enough we get another new revelation that counters the first premise and makes everything questionable. This shakes my faith in our human understanding and shows the fallacy of believing everything that is out there.
In such a confused and messed up world, what hope is there and where are we headed if our collective wisdom is so flawed? What does God have to say to us about this in today's word?
We are reminded time and time again in the Bible that there will always be people who scoff at God and follow the evil desires of their heart and that we should not fall prey to their web of deceit. To know what is right from wrong, we need to measure everything by the word of God and by the revelation of the Holy Spirit.
I pray that each of us will start looking at the world and all it's wisdom through the lens of the Bible and as we do so, we will grow in love and knowledge of God the Father through the ministry of the Holy Spirit in us and that we will cast our burdens at the foot of the cross and walk in freedom from sin with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Are you wise to the world and foolish to God or are you wise in the WORD and helping the helpless know where to find the real hope... in the loving arms of Jesus Christ?
In His Loving Service,
Jude 1:24-25 To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy— to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.
